Security perimeter fence around Alzheimer's facility

Republic Fence recently installed approximately 250 linear feet of 7 1/2 foot tall double sided cedar fence with cap around the courtyard of a newly constructed Alzheimer's facility in Houston, Tx. The job required Republic Fence to bolt approximately 22 posts to existing stone columns and set another 23 posts in cement to support the weight of the fence.

Two gates were also constructed with heavy-duty 2" steel frames. The gates were made to look like the fence and not draw attention to themselves. The job was completed in 5 days.

Houston fence with wood and columns

Republic Fence, a Houston fence company, recently met the challenge of a Tanglewood homeowner to construct a cedar fence that could be installed around his existing stucco columns. This Houston homeowner's fence pickets also needed to be "weathered" for approximately 4 weeks before installation to minimize shrinkage after fence installation.

The fence installation required the removal of dozens of existing posts set very deep in large concrete footings, as well as artful trimming of the fence pickets around the columns to make the columns appear to "pop out" of the cedar fence.

Republic Fence has been building quality fences in Houston, TX for approximately 7 years, with excellent customer service, warranty and reputation. For more information visit:

Republic Fence installs foul ball poles for Clements High Baseball

Sugar Land Fence, TX — March 1, 2012 — Frankie Baseball Field, the home of the Clements Rangers Baseball team recently had a facelift to remove the dated chain link outfield fence and replace with a "big blue wall" of wood fence.

For phase II, Republic Fence Company was called back out to install 30-foot tall foul ball poles in the outfield. The job required holes to be dug 50" deep x 24" wide. Each pole is supported by a concrete footing weighing approximately 900 lbs. The foul ball poles needed to be assembled in place, and that required the use of a lift. The result is a professional quality ball field for Clements High baseball. Go Rangers!

Clements High School Frankie Field in Sugar land gets new fence

Sugar Land, TX — November 23, 2011 — Officially named Johnnie Frankie Baseball Field at its dedication on September 10, 1978, the home of the Clements Rangers Baseball team recently underwent cosmetic surgery to remove the unsightly 18-foot tall chain link outfield fence and replace with a more up-to-date wooden outfield fence.
According to Clements baseball Coach De Los Santos and booster representative Pete Mayock, the decision to replace was both aesthetic and monetary, as the old chain link fence with torn windscreen was an eyesore as well as difficult and expensive to maintain. The booster club financed the removal of the old fence and the installation of the new fence. Local business Republic Fence Company, owned and operated by Clements Alumnus Troy Matthys, was awarded the construction project.

The 18' tall outfield chain link was removed and alterations were made to the steel support poles to accommodate a new 8-foot tall wooden fence that rises to 16-feet at center field. The fence will ultimately be painted “Clements Blue” to match the dugouts.

The $15.50 per foot houston fences

Recently it has become popular in Houston to offer customers the unreal price of $15.50 per linear foot for a 6' cedar fence with 2x6 baseboard, complete with removal and disposal. How can this be? How can any company in their right mind make even a small profit at this price when materials for this type of fence are hovering between $7 and $8 per foot. Add to that the cost of repeated trips to the customer's house for quotes, installation, and check collecting at $3.90 per gallon, the cost to dispose of the old fence, the cost for the crew (any crew worth their salt is going to require at least $4 per foot on this type of fence installation), overhead, and all the rest and the company/ contractor is making about $2 per linear foot profit. I don't know about you, but that just plain stinks. What happened to cost x 2?

If you look at it from a buyer's viewpoint what are you really getting for this price? Is sales tax included in the per foot cost? What is the warranty? I mean anyone can throw up a cheap fence using cheap concrete and offer a 1 year warranty when the fence will fall over in 18 months. How about offering a 5 to 7 year warranty on that fence being installed for $15.50 per foot. Can't do it because the materials and workmanship won't hold up.

So to all those contractors out there slashing the average price on fence installation - you'll get yours eventually. Stop messing with the industry and just build a solid product for a decent price.
