Don't ask Chatgpt for fence cost

With all the AI rage it might be tempting to let ChatGPT tell you what you should be paying for a fence. I did that in here is what it told me:

Wood Fence Cost Estimates in Sugar Land, TX

Per Linear Foot (Installed)

  • 6-foot fence: $15.00 – $22.00

Per Linear Foot (Material Only)

  • Pressure-treated pine: $5 – $15
  • Cedar: $15 – $30

Total Installation Costs

  • 100 linear feet (6-foot height): $1,700 – $2,200
Unfortunately these prices are not reflective of actual market prices. The total installation cost is not accurate. For a treated pine fence cost per foot to install should be between $25-$27 per foot. A 6' cedar fence would be $28-$30 per foot installed.
These prices should include demolition and removal of existing fence.
if you have someone coming out and quoting significantly less than these amounts they are not doing something right.

Do it right the first time!

Stronger Fence = Safer Property = Peace of Mind

Don't wait until its too late! Fence Savers in Sugar Land offers comprehensive hurricane preparation services to safeguard your property.

Immediate Action Before a Storm:

  • Inspect entire fence: We walk the perimeter of your fence (both sides if the neighbor's allow) and look for:
    • Loose or Wobbly posts: There are the primary point of failure. If we find severely rotted posts we can either temporarily brace them up with additional in ground support or dig out and replace the post with a new post.
    • Loose Panels or Boards: We ensure all rail to posts connections are tight, add galvanized steel hurricane clips to critical joints, and check picket to rail connections.
    • Loose Hardware: We check hinges, latches, and other hardware. Tighten loose connections or replace the fastner.
Long term Maintenance:
  • Professional Fence Cleaning: Revive your fence's appearance and remove years of dirt, mold and grime. In just a few hours your fence can look almost as good as new.
  • Remove vines, debris and low hanging limbs that may be causing premature rot or pushing against the fence.
  • Treat your posts with in post inserts (just like the telephone company does for their telephone poles).
